The proud Ms. Terrea-Nicole may not be the vocalist in “Vital Signs,” but she utilized her resources in a smart collaboration with Jason Eustice. Her beats and overall production has a Black Eyed Peas sound to it that naturally brings about the desire to dance in any situation. Chicago is a wonderful city of endless cultures and genres, and Ms. Terrea-Nicole has found her niche in the Soul / Pop family. I could see “Vital Signs” Blaring out the speakers of any night club with an easy -going crowd.

Keeping the song in it’s pop category, it would fit in with the radio crowd quite well seeing as beat-riddled pop seems to have taken over. Lyrics are not exactly a priority in the Pop world these days, and this by no means is a jab at Pop artists, but they seem to focus more on the beat and overall sound rather than the meaning behind each word. “Vital Signs” is no exception to this observation as ‘feeling yo vital signs’ is repeated sixteen times in the course of three minutes and forty three seconds. However, the vocalist has excellent tone and keeps the song going strong with his Enrique Inglesias style.
If this song played over and over, someone would have to check my vital signs. Just kidding Ms. Terrea-Nicole, I’m just not a member of the pop culture as much as this song requires one to be. Keeping up my honest streak, I would have to say this would not be my first choice to listen to as I reached for the stereo, but to others it may be the best song they’ve heard all year. Terrea-Nicole definitely deserves recognition for her efforts. I’d give this song a three out of five, but I will say the vocalist saves the day , so she should hold on tight to the musical talents of Jason Eustice.
